Important Notice for Patients With Meridian Insurance Plan

Effective February 15, 2023, Great Lakes Pain Center will no longer be accepting Meridian Health Insurance. If you are a patient of Great Lakes Pain Center and currently have your healthcare insurance provided by Meridian Health, we will no longer be able to provide your pain care. We sincerely apologize for the complications and inconvenience incurred by this change in insurance participation.
Meridian insurance plans no longer accepted at Great Lakes Pain Center:

  • Meridian Health Plan of Michigan Medicaid HMO
  • Medicare Meridian Complete
  • Medicare Meridian Care HMO
  • Meridian Choice
  • Medicare WellCare
  • Ambetter from Meridian

For your future pain care, we recommend that you contact your primary care provider and/or your insurance company to find an in-network pain management provider in your area.

Great Lakes Pain Center is committed to providing our patients with safe and effective pain care. We are continuously monitoring and implementing the latest Covid-19 safety protocols as outlined by the CDC to safely treat our patients while protecting clinical staff. As always, we thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this pandemic together.

The CDC recommends the following precautions to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Practice Social Distancing of at least 6 feet.
  • Limit unnecessary travel and exposure to large gatherings.
  • Wash your hands frequently, for at least 20 seconds.
  • Don’t touch your mouth, nose or eyes.
  • Cough and/or sneeze into a tissue and throw it away. If a tissue is not handy, sneeze into your elbow.

Welcome Erik Voogd, MD

Erik Voogd, MD, is trained and experienced in the latest interventional pain management techniques and has board certifications in both Anesthesiology and Pain Management. Dr. Voogd received his Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona. He received his Medical Degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Voogd then went on to complete his Anesthesiology Residency along with his Pain Medicine Fellowship at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, in Portsmouth, VA.
